This couple came in as repeat clients with the goal to refresh their kitchen and bring it into the same level of finish as the other improvements we had made in their past projects. They were ready to get rid of the oak cabinetry and the soffits, but otherwise envisioned a like for like layout. Emily knew their taste and, having heard the pain points with their existing kitchen, suggested some minor tweaks to layout, where flooring could be preserved as requested, but they could enhance the functionality of the space.
By moving the fridge into an alcove that had previously been used for a pantry and reallocating the space once used as a desk for additional pantry space and a coffee bar, more space was gained at either side of the cook surface, making for a beautiful focal point. After doing the project, the couple remarked that numerous people have asked which walls they took down because it’s such a dramatic difference, when, in fact all walls (and even the floor) were preserved!
