Color Forecast 2011: “Bold Invention” Color Scheme

Concluding our color series…

Inspired by the bold, digitally enhanced hues we’ve seen in such popular media as Alice in Wonderland and Avatar, this palette is for the fearless colorist.  This palette draws from global influences, such as the Cynical Realism art movement of Urban China and the carnaval spirit of Rio de Janeiro.  It also takes cues from rebellious grafitti and digitally enhanced technology.  This palette celebrates shaking off what feels safe and familiar in favor of a bolder, more avant-garde scheme.

Our showroom’s modestly sized convenience kitchen has been redesigned in the Bold Invention palette and combines the bold colors of Sherwin Williams’ final forecasted palette.  Open shelving offers a clean, contemporary space to display shiny white ceramic against an active, multi colored glass subway tile splash.  High gloss, painted gray base cabinets with white laquer counter tops, stainless appliances and Platino Metalwood tile floors offer a neutral, welcome relief to this otherwise color saturated palette.  Unique materials made by 3-form bring new dimension to the space, with a polyester textile ceiling treatment in Green Apple and island panels reminicent of graffiti.  Brightly colored mid century Panton stacking chairs look decidedly modern against a chrome and glass table.  Flexible seating is offered by the bright mustard ottomans beneath the naked window.

Finishes Featuring: 3-form Parametre Hexa in Apple Green, Metalwood Tile in Platino, Eheart Essentials Leightonwood Cabinetry in Deep Caviar on Maple (Square Raised Panel with 3.5″ stile and rail), Glass Reflections subway tile in GR03, GR05, GR06, GR14, GR16, Hanstone Aurora Snow solid surface, 3 form Eco Resin VAria Connection in Passion, Julien Glassic 0201 Stainless Sink with integrated faucet.  Range by Richmond Stoves 1100 DFT Duel Fuel Range in Sushi.  Successi Cabinet Hardware in High Gloss White by Atlas Homewares
